Holiday Road had a fantastic time at Sundown Bar and Grill in Williamsburg on Saturday, November 19,2011. A packed-out house kept the place reeling and rocking ’til the small hours of Sunday morning.

With HR’s equipment all set up, it kind of felt like the calm before the storm….

This gig featured the debut performance of Shannon on the drums pounding out the back beat on the Beatles classic With A Little Help From My Friends.

A special shout out went out to Holiday Road veteran Roger Wetlaufer and his family on this night in honor of the newest addition to the family-little Emmylou Wetlaufer!

Our buds Hooch and Anastasia were on hand to get some HR-style tune-age!

As were Mike G-Man and Craig!

Holiday Road had the joint jumping all night long!

Holiday Road was happy to be asked to play at the Great 2011 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Iowa City on October 1, 2011.
The Alzheimer’s Association raised a record amount of money at this event, and that will go to support the efforts to end Alzheimer’s. See the Alzheimer’s Association Great 2011 Walk to End Alzheimer’s web page for additional information.
We were happy to contribute to this effort and received the wonderful thank you note below from the organizers. You can see a picture of us playing at the event in the thank you photo, on the bottom row of photos, second from the left.  It was a great time for everyone! Thanks to everyone who worked (and walked!) so hard to make this year’s event a roaring success!

Holiday Road played a fun-filled Halloween gig at the Springville American Legion on Friday 10-28-11. Friends came out in costumes and street wear to help the band rock the night away! We had visits from the Scooby Doo gang including, of course, Scooby and Velma and Freddie, and also Xena Warrior Princess, Phantom of the Opera, Vampira Queen of the Night, Jamaica Mon, a Joey Ramone knock-off and lots of other friends. Scooby, Velma and Vampira won the costume contest!

As a special tribute, the band played the original Scooby Doo theme song to the delight of the crowd. Click on the picture below of Xena and Joey to see a video showing some of the FUN-tastic night everyone had.

Holiday Road brought a new level of "rock" to tailgating at their August 20, 2011 gig at Tailgators in Coralville!

Lucy Sharp joined us once again to bring some of her special light-up tambourine rhythms!        

Our friends John Mcartor and Lori Hartley Quinn were on hand for the party!        

You know it’s fun playing in the band, just watch Shannon!       

Disco fever hit Tailgators when our buddies Pam McDonnell, Fran Winslow, Kellie Linden, Craig Meacham and Nan Hirleman Aalborg
hit the dance floor and busted out the dance moves!!!!     

Shannon and Allison had folks singing along on Don’t Stop Believing!!     

Of course Mike G-Man Gerstbrein was there!!        

The band and our buddies kicked some Tailgators tails that night so thanks to all who came out and enjoyed a great show, great food and a great time!!   

Holiday Road returned for another fun night of music-making and house rocking at Cedar River Landing in Cedar Rapids on Friday, July 15, 2011. We love playing at CRL-great crowds, food and sound! Thanks so much to Gordy Axt for sitting in on bass at this gig! We will post some pictures soon and wanted to take the opportunity to say "THANKS!!!" to our friends for coming out to see the band kicking it up a notch and to Cedar River Landing for inviting Holiday Road back to a great live-music venue!

Holiday Road took no prisoners at Capone’s in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, May 21, 2011! The band and a big crowd of friends kept this Big House partying so hard it was almost criminal!

HR got down to bid’ness by setting up a Holiday RoadBlock of Rock!! Thanks to Teresa Wymore and Robert Heitman for getting so many great pictures!!

A huge crowd of witnesses came to see the band’s line-up! From the right we see Rob Bucheim, Robert Heitman, Stephanie Hogan, Mary Kay Hogan and across the table Kris Estergaard.

Roger and Mary Wetlaufer came to the show and caught us up on the latest family news!

The boys in the band kept the joint jumping!!

Shannon and Allison blasted the crowd away with their high-caliber vocals!

Mike G-man Gerstbrein and buddies Jeff Brown and Russell Grout were on hand for the show with some high-quality music time and filled Shannon in on the evidence!

Craig Meacham and a new fan who loved HR’s Steely Dan songs were there adding to the fun!

Folks were dancing up a storm and begging for lotta mo’ all night long!>

Holiday Road was back for a great night of rocking the house at Cedar River Landing in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, May 7, 2011. A great venue with great food, service and lots of friends out to see the show!
